55th Guards Marine Division of Pacific Fleet is the only division of Marines left in the Russian Navy today. The division was formed on the 1st of December in 1968. The words “for Mother Russia” are not empty for these troops and visible proof of that is the memorial of 63 comrades that fought Chechen rebels and terrorists in the 1st Chechen War. Five of the fallen Marines were awarded the “Hero Of Russia” order. This division participated in the Russian-Chinese Military Exercises in the 2005. Tiger on Anchor.
