There is not much known about 317 Military Intelligence unit for it is still one of the most secret units in the Russian Army. Military Intelligence unit would be deployed to gather information in the deep behind the enemy lines. It is also cross trained as a diversion unit, which implies that they can destroy major parts of an enemy infrastructure.
